EMILY RICHARDSON: Doula

I am a proud mother of a wonderfully sweet little boy. I know firsthand how important the birthing and postpartum experience are and how they can be nurtured with the right support. When I became pregnant with my son, and my sister had my niece shortly after, I was drawn to maternal wellness. My passion is to assist other women & their families during the remarkable and wonderful time of late pregnancy, labour and postpartum.

By nature, I am caring, empathetic, nurturing and warm. My personality harmonizes with the definition of a doula.

Why did I become a doula? The simple answer is this; I want to positively impact women's lives. Giving birth may be the most memorable and monumental moment for many women & their families. My goal is to help make the journey of childbirth the best it can be, by supporting Mom & partner in every way I am able. I believe women can and deserve to have an empowering and fulfilling birth experience. Being present during this time in people's lives is a gift and a privilege.

Emily went far and beyond my greatest expectations for a doula. Her support was very comprehensive before the birth. She readily provided us with any helpful information we needed. She was a source of strength for me and my husband. We could not have done it without her. I am grateful beyond words
